About This Event

All Ages Community Gardening (Kids + Family friendly) is a series of weekly drop-in gardening classes held every Wednesday from June 10, 2026, to August 26, 2026, at Clackamas Community College Environmental Learning Center (ELC) in Oregon City.

What to Expect

  • Learn to grow food, flowers, and fresh herbs.
  • Gain practical skills for gardening at home.
  • Grow fresh, healthy food to share with the community.
  • Tend the community plot by pulling weeds, planting seeds, watering, and building paths.
  • Engage in diverse activities including plant identification, recipes, and seasonal gardening tips.
  • Participate in gardening games, crafts, and safety lessons for kids.

Who Should Attend

This event welcomes kids and families of all ages, with youths requiring a supervising adult. It is suitable for all skill levels interested in learning about and participating in community gardening.

Practical Information

Admission is by donation, with pre-registration strongly encouraged to ensure sufficient materials and space. Each session runs for 2 hours on Wednesdays.

Programme

The weekly 2-hour drop-in sessions will include:

  • Tending the community plot (weeding, planting, watering, building paths)
  • Making and sharing snacks
  • Sharing extra harvest with participants or the campus food bank
  • Plant and pest identification
  • Recipes, snacks, and other uses for plants
  • Seasonal tips and tricks for the PNW gardener
  • Gardening activities for kids (games, crafts, tool safety, food prep)
