About This Event

Horticulture Community Volunteer Days 2026 takes place on various Thursdays from April through November 2026 at Queens Botanical Garden in Flushing, NY.

What to Expect

  • Help keep Queens Botanical Garden clean, green, and growing
  • Learn gardening basics and work hands-on with plants
  • Make new friends and put your green thumb to good use
  • Engage in seasonal projects including weeding, watering, pruning, planting, and mulching
  • Explore the beauty of QBG’s ever-changing scenery

Who Should Attend

Individuals 16 years of age or older, who are interested in gardening, community service, and physical outdoor work. All skill levels are welcome.

Practical Information

This event is free, but registration is required for each volunteer day. Volunteer shifts run from 8:45 am to 2 pm. Participants should dress for outdoor weather, wear comfortable clothes and sturdy, close-toed shoes. Bringing water and snacks is recommended; gardening gloves will be provided by QBG staff.
