About This Event

Horticulture Tours are held on multiple dates at Domino Park in Brooklyn, NY.

What to Expect

  • Learn about all of the native plants in the park.
  • Discover the ecological landscape of Domino Park.
  • Explore the new plants in Domino Square.
  • Understand the balance of aesthetics and habitat value of all the plants in the park.
  • Specific tours will focus on different features, led by gardeners from the Horticulture Team.

Who Should Attend

This event is open to anyone interested in learning about native plants, ecological landscapes, and horticultural practices within an urban park setting.

Practical Information

  • Each tour is 1 hour long.
  • Attendees should meet in front of the Compost Tent in front of the Fog Feature (S 3rd entrance to the Park, River side).

Programme

Each tour will focus on a different feature of the park:

  1. May 7: This tour will be led by gardener Miranda and will focus on the bulbs throughout the park, included newly planted (and blooming) bulbs in Domino Square.
  2. June 4: This tour will be led by gardener Anna and will focus on all of the native plants most beneficial to pollinators in the park. Stay tuned for themes for the rest of the tours!
