About This Event
Ten Broeck Mansion Gardening & Community Days 2026 are a series of volunteer gardening and clean-up events taking place on multiple dates from April through October 2026. The first events are scheduled for April 10 and April 11, 2026, at Ten Broeck Mansion, Albany, NY.
What to Expect
- Engage in hands-on gardening and grounds clean-up activities.
- Contribute to the preservation of 4 acres of historic gardens.
- Opportunities for individuals, families (ages 8+), and community groups to participate.
- Businesses and organizations can sponsor a day for team-building and community promotion.
- Training available for those new to gardening.
Who Should Attend
Individuals, families, community groups, and businesses interested in giving back to the community, learning about garden maintenance, and preserving a historic site are encouraged to attend.
Practical Information
Participation is free of charge. Events typically run from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Free off-street parking is available off Livingston Avenue. Gloves are provided, but participants may bring their own. Hats and sunscreen are recommended. Please note that there is no public restroom available for this program.
Programme
Recurring Schedule (April – October 2026)
- First and Third Fridays (9:30 AM - 11:30 AM): Focus on light gardening tasks such as planting, mulching, weeding, and thinning plants. Gardeners of all abilities are welcome, with training provided for beginners.
- First and Third Saturdays (9:30 AM - 11:30 AM): Focus on grounds maintenance, including trash pick-up, stick collection, and light raking. All abilities are welcome.
- Note: The first garden and community days in April will be held on the second Friday (April 10) and Saturday (April 11).
