Landscaping 101 is an introductory class held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, from 6pm to 7pm, at the Lake County Agriculture Center in Tavares, FL. The first listed date is June 17, 2026.

What to Expect

This introductory class is designed to help residents create and maintain a healthy, attractive landscape. Attendees will gain practical tips to help their landscape thrive in Central Florida, whether starting a new yard or adapting an existing one. Topics covered include Florida-Friendly plants, trees, and lawns, common local pests, basic weed control, and smart water-saving practices. Participants will also receive a Florida-Friendly Landscaping Guide to Plant Selection and Landscape Design.

This class is designed for new residents of Lake County, FL, who are looking to establish a new landscape or improve an existing one.

Practical Information

The cost for this 1-hour in-person class is $18 per person. Refunds are available up to 7 days before the event. The class runs from 6pm to 7pm.
