Seed 2 Sale: Gardening & Agri-Business Workshop Series is a 12-part event series running on multiple dates at the King Greenleaf Recreation Center in Washington, DC.

Who Should Attend

This workshop series is for anyone from brand new gardeners to those already experienced, interested in turning their passion into a thriving agri-business, exploring careers in agriculture, or pursuing self-sufficiency and a side hustle.

Practical Information

Tickets are offered on a sliding scale: Supporter ($35+), Standard ($25), Reduced ($10-$15), and Free. All tickets include materials, seeds, snacks, and good vibes.

  3. Workshop 3: Sowing Seeds Covers seed types, planting techniques, and setting intentions for your garden with roots in biodynamic farming.
  4. Workshop 4: Gardening TLC (Tender Loving Care) Master nurturing your garden—and yourself—including plant anatomy, mulching, watering, and care plans.
  5. Workshop 5: Fertilizer Deep Dive Explore plant nutrition, composting, brewing your own fertilizers, and turning kitchen waste into garden gold.
  6. Workshop 6: Planting Techniques & Garden Strategy Expand skills with advanced planting strategies like intercropping, succession planting, and companion growing.
  7. Workshop 7: Garden Friends and Foes Get to know creatures that help and harm your garden, learn natural pest control, and maintain ecosystem balance.
  8. Workshop 8: Harvest Know-How Learn when and how to harvest, store, and preserve crops, including preparing what you’ve grown.
  9. Workshop 9: Planting Your Career Explore career pathways in agriculture focusing on food justice, sustainability, and entrepreneurship, with a special guest spotlight.
  10. Workshop 10: Beyond Seeds Introduces alternative crops and innovative growing methods like tubers, bulbs, mushrooms, and aquaponics.
  11. Workshop 11: After the Harvest Learn the importance of seed saving, soil regeneration, record keeping, and long-term garden planning.
  12. Workshop 12: Growing Profits Turn your garden into a business, exploring value-added products, agritourism, farmers markets, and food-based career paths.
