Year 10 and Year 11 Horticulture with Goodlives

Year 10 and Year 11 Horticulture with Goodlives is a hands-on horticulture course offered on multiple dates at the Goodlives Site at West Lakes Business Park in Moor Row.

What to Expect

• Gain hands-on experience in ground preparation
• Learn about planting and harvesting techniques
• Practice nurturing seedlings
• Support site maintenance through tasks like grass cutting, weeding, fence work, and litter picking
• Receive a certificate of participation
• Option for AQA certification

Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at young people in Year 10 and Year 11, or aged 14-16, who live or have connections to the Copeland area. Young people must be accompanied by a trusted adult (parent/carer etc.) for these sessions.

Practical Information

Attendees should wear wellies and bring waterproofs or weather-appropriate clothing. Drinks and snacks are welcome, with a fridge and water refill station available on site. Toilets are on site, and there are places to sit undercover if it is wet. This is a 6-week course, with potential to become longer term.
