Open Gardening Day

Open Gardening Day is a recurring community event held on Wednesdays and Sundays, from 11 am to 3 pm, at ITAL COMMUNITY GARDEN- The Black Gate next to in London.

• Join in digging, planting, and sharing gardening knowledge with friends old and new.
• Learn new gardening skills, meet new people, and find solace in the soil within a peaceful, intergenerational community garden.
• Grow culturally diverse foods, from scotch bonnets to squashes, utilizing a polytunnel and greenhouse.
• Engage in discussion circles, edutainment activities, food growing workshops for children, and mental wellbeing sessions.
• Contribute to learning how to incorporate climate-friendly renewable energy into the green space, alongside food growing as a collective.

Practical Information

The garden is open on Wednesdays and Sundays between 11 am and 3 pm. Light refreshments are always available. Facilities include a compost toilet, summerhouse shelter, and wheelchair-accessible raised beds. Attendees are encouraged to bring gardening gloves and a reusable water bottle for top-ups.
