About This Event

Community gardening sessions! are held on multiple dates, every Saturday, at Barking Food Forest site in Barking. Join us to learn how to plant, cultivate, and harvest your own food.

What to Expect

  • Learn how to plant, cultivate, and harvest your own food
  • Participate in activities and workshops covering all aspects of food growing
  • Gain hands-on experience, from seed-sowing to harvesting your homegrown produce

Who Should Attend

These sessions are for anyone interested in food growing in Barking & Dagenham, with no prior experience required.

Practical Information

  • Cost: Free
  • Time: All sessions are from 11am-2pm, every Saturday

Programme

Over the next few Saturdays, we will be focusing on setting things in place ahead of the cold season, with activities including:

  • Levelling the ground in the Polytunnel greenhouse
  • Constructing nursery beds for the Greenhouse
  • Collecting and storing seeds for next season
  • Meeting to discuss the plants intended for the next season
  • Design the kitchen garden and nursery for next season
  • Clean the kitchen garden
  • General weeding and cleaning
