About This Event

Land is Medicine – An advanced course in permaculture & herbalism will take place from September 13 to September 18, 2026, at Wilmars Gaerten in Trebbin.

Programme

Day 1: Arrival & Orientation
- Arrivals at Wilmars Gaerten.
- Settle into camping spot, meet the land with a Farm Tour with Wilmar’s Gaerten founder Maria Gimenez.
- Gather for a welcome dinner.
- Opening circle for introductions and rhythm of the week ahead.
- Exploring the Context to Permaculture Design, framing how regenerative herbalism and permaculture inform one another.
Day 2: Context to Permaculture Design & Designing with Water
- Designing with Water, the organizing element of every regenerative landscape.
- Cover earthworks, swales, ponds, and the principles of slowing, spreading, and sinking water.
- Regenerative Herbalism: explore how permaculture ethics and principles shape a modern herbal practice and how cyclical thinking shows up in the apothecary.
Day 3: Food Forests, Agroforestry & The Farm
- Food Forests and Syntropic Systems with Agroforestry (BF): multi-canopy approach and how stacked, layered systems mimic forest ecology while producing food and medicine.
- Plant Guilds with a Herbal Layer Focus (SW): plant families anchoring medicinal guilds, how they support pest management and pollinators, and how to weave them into productive systems.
- Design Project Introduction (SW, BF, MG): frame the design challenge of integrating medicinal herbs into the food forest and market garden.
