About This Event

Medicinal Herb Garden Workshop will be held on Saturday, September 26 at Roberts Creek Community School Society in Roberts Creek, BC. Join local herbalist and Naturopathic Doctor Marisa Marciano for this workshop focused on deepening your connection with medicinal herbs.

What to Expect

  • Experience a gentle guided walk through the medicinal herb garden to discover late-summer medicinal plants.
  • Deepen your connection with medicinal herbs through careful observation, mindful harvesting, and shared stories and teachings.
  • Craft a small dried herbal bundle to create an at-home healing tea.
  • Prepare a soothing salve using herbs picked directly from the garden.

Who Should Attend

This workshop is ideal for anyone interested in exploring herbal medicine, learning about medicinal plants, and creating their own natural remedies.

Practical Information

A minimum donation of $15 is requested for admission, with all funds supporting the maintenance, planting, and more of the Robert’s Creek Legacy Garden. Participants are asked to bring scissors, a glass jar with a lid (250-500 ml), a notebook, and a pen. A magnifying glass is optional. The event duration is approximately 2 hours.

Programme

  • Discussion/Introduction: What is Herbal medicine and what’s growing in the medicinal herb garden (identify a selection of plants), discuss the honourable harvest (20 min)
  • Short Herbal Meditation (30 min)
  • Drying-bundle demonstration: Participants create a medicinal tea to take home (30 min)
  • Medicinal Salve demonstration (30 min)
  • Wrap up, Q&A (10 min)
