The Winter Planting Workshop will take place on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Community Environment Centre in Annangrove.

What to Expect

  • Join Friends of CEC gardeners Chris and Claude for a hands-on workshop focused on growing vegetables through the winter season.
  • Learn techniques for planting root vegetables and creating a productive winter garden in both large garden beds and small spaces.
  • Witness a live planting demonstration.
  • Gain practical experience by potting your own onion seedlings to take home.

Who Should Attend

This workshop is ideal for anyone new to gardening or those looking to expand their existing skills. Please note, attendance is restricted to Hills residents only.

Practical Information

  • Price: Free
  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Parking: Plenty of free parking is available at Annangrove Park, found at the rear of The Progress Hall.
  • What to Bring: Pen and paper for notes, a hat, enclosed shoes, long pants, and sunscreen, as part of the workshop will be outdoors.
  • Cancellation Policy: If you cannot attend, please cancel your ticket at least 12 hours in advance. No-shows or late cancellations may affect future booking privileges.
