Who Should Attend
This 12-part workshop series is for anyone interested in turning their gardening passion into a thriving agri-business. It caters to both brand new gardeners and those with existing experience, as well as individuals interested in careers in agriculture.
Practical Information
Tickets are offered on a sliding scale: Supporter ($35+), Standard ($25), Reduced ($10-$15), and Free. All tickets include materials, seeds, snacks, and facilitation.

- Workshop 1: No Culture Without Agriculture Uncover the historical and cultural legacy of agriculture in Black and Indigenous communities. Learn how our ancestors shaped the land—and how that legacy lives in us today.
- Workshop 2: Planning Your Garden Learn the fundamentals of garden planning, soil preparation, moon cycles, and planting calendars—with a deep dive into ancestral gardening safety and agrarian science.
- Workshop 3: Sowing Seeds Discover the magic inside every seed. This session covers seed types, planting techniques, and setting intentions for your garden with roots in biodynamic farming.
- Workshop 4: Gardening TLC (Tender Loving Care) Master the art of nurturing your garden—and yourself. We’ll talk plant anatomy, mulching, watering, and building a care plan for both your crops and your well-being.
- Workshop 5: Fertilizer Deep Dive Get into the nitty gritty of plant nutrition. Explore composting, brewing your own fertilizers, and turning kitchen waste into garden gold.
- Workshop 6: Planting Techniques & Garden Strategy Expand your skills with advanced planting strategies like intercropping, succession planting, companion growing, and more.
- Workshop 7: Garden Friends and Foes From pollinators to pests—get to know the creatures that help and harm your garden. Learn natural pest control and how to keep your ecosystem in balance.
- Workshop 8: Harvest Know-How Learn when and how to harvest, store, and preserve your crops. We’ll also touch on the joy of preparing what you’ve grown.
- Workshop 9: Planting Your Career Explore career pathways in agriculture with a focus on food justice, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. Includes a special guest spotlight.
- Workshop 10: Beyond Seeds Tubers, bulbs, mushrooms, aquaponics—this session introduces alternative crops and innovative growing methods to expand what (and how) you grow.
- Workshop 11: After the Harvest Learn the importance of seed saving, soil regeneration, record keeping, and long-term garden planning.
- Workshop 12: Growing Profits Turn your garden into a business! Explore value-added products, agritourism, farmers markets, and food-based career paths.
