About This Event

The “Edible Landscaping - In Person” workshop will take place on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Hillsborough County Extension Service in Seffner, FL.

What to Expect

  • Learn how to grow vegetables, herbs, fruit trees, and other foods.
  • Discover environmentally friendly cultivation methods.
  • Select edible varieties suitable for planting in Florida landscapes.
  • Gain knowledge on conserving water, building soil, and reducing pesticide use.
  • In-person attendees will receive starts of various plants, which may include dragonfruit, papaya, pigeon peas, sweet potato, tropical spinach, and turmeric.

This class is designed for gardeners interested in expanding their own edible landscapes and creating a backyard garden that provides fresh food in an affordable, sustainable way.

Practical Information

  • Registration Fee: $10.00 per individual (non-refundable).
  • Event Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes (1:30 PM - 3 PM).
